Wednesday nite: Round 14
From a fan's perspective, this multi-game per week thing feels awfully rushed. With the standings being how they are, the pace is certainly affecting the teams' ability to both rest and prepare -- especially if teams lose players to injury or bans.

I wish I could write these league round summaries after actually watching a majority of the games, but here I don't have the luxury. At this pace, watching two games per round is probably the best I can do before the next round is upon us.

So, I hope you'll forgive me -- my summaries will be mostly built on my browsing game recaps and video highlights.

Games I did watch:

Yokohama F Marinos 2-1 Kashima Antlers

It is fitting that if one team were to crack the Kashima fortress, it would be defending champions Yokohama. Their switch to the 4-4-2 formation seems to have breathed new life into the team. Many players commented that this system is allowing them to move the ball around better, and now that the sides Tanaka and Dutra are getting the hang of what it means to be a sideback as opposed to a sidehalf, their game is starting to look very sharp. The biggest change that the new system brought to the team, I think, is not the system itself but the fact that they are challenging themselves with something new. continues
