ACL Round Two - Phew!
Well, in the midst of all the NT roster speculation the ACL's second round games took place somewhat quietly yesterday. Fortunately, both Jubilo and Marinos were able to get much-needed 3 points for their group. Jubilo are currently in 3rd place and Marinos are in 2nd for their respective groups.

Yokohama F. Marinos 2 - 0 PSM Makassar (Indonesia)
With star forwards still out to injury and key defense people playing with injury, the logo for Marinos should have bandages and crutches added on. Despite the tough away game conditions, coach Okada's (former coach for Japan NT) roster was able to pull through with an important win. Forward Oshima, still riding a great wave after his hattrick in the previous J1 game against Cerezo Osaka, headed in the first goal off Dutra's free kick.

Jubilo Iwata 6 - 0 Hoang anh Gia Lai (Vietnam)
Jubilo really mixed up their roster today, as coach Yamamoto (former coach for U23 Olympics team) left out NT players Fukunishi ( and Fujita ( and tested the young talent. It was nice to see that Robert Cullen, pic (fw for Japan national youth team) and Kikuchi (mf, Olympic squad) were put to use in this match. Cullen is one of the "star" faces on the Japan youth team; with a World Youth Championship tournament coming up this summer, the opportunity to play among so many internationally-experienced players on the Jubilo team is a great advantage for him.
